It's Time To Buy A Home in San Mateo County.Leave a comment »
If you live around San Mateo County and either work here or drive through on your way to San Francisco or Silicon Valley you know the housing market is still pretty vibrant in many areas. Sure we're seeing defaults in the county especially in Daly City, Redwood City and East Palo Alto, but don't believe the you are reading or hearing in the press about the market tanking. Real estate is local and those reports are not local to San Mateo County. Think Micro not Macro, what's going on other places has no effect on us unless you like to believe Chicken Little, and the Sky's Falling In! It's time to buy a home if you are looking to put your roots down in a community and stay a while. If you can get pre-approved by a lender you can find some good buys in many areas of San Mateo, Belmont and San Carlos. Interest rates are at their lowest this year. There is money to lend, great houses to buy, and San Mateo County is a great place to live. San Mateo County has had a shortage of housing for as long as I can remember. I've lived around here all of my life, and I certainly remember when building was going on everywhere, but that's not been the case for years. Sure, we read about possible new subdivisions being built periodically. There's talk about one in Redwood City, along the bay. In San Mateo, once Bay Meadows shuts down, there are plans for a large mixed use community of homes, townhouses, apartments, businesses and parks. Redwood Shores may see one last open space developed, too. But these are all years away from breaking ground.
