We're Spring Cleaning Our Garage and It's Something You Too Can Do For Yours

JunkWhat it is about Spring that requires everyone to clean?  When the weather is as glorious as it is right now, who wants to stay inside or in the garage getting sweaty and working hard?  No one!  We want to be outside playing.  But if your garage looks anything like ours, doing a Spring Cleaning just might make the Summer more fun and enable you to find those summer toys hidden somewhere in the middle of the mess.

Where to start?  The first thing we've done is sell off some excess tools on CraigsList.  Where would we be without Craig?  Wow, immediate space.  It was amazing.  Now, we also grow boxes in our garage.  Every time something arrives in a box, the box manages to land in the garage, intact.  Which is how we grow those boxes!  So the boxes are getting cut up and readied for our recycle day this next week.  More space again.

We make wines so we have about 12 cases of wine sitting there.  We also have the paraphernalia I use to help stage houses, our real estate signs, and then plain old junk.  My intentions are to clear everything out of the garage and then sort and qualify.  One area for the garbage, one for sell or donate, and one for things we are reorganizing.  Then cabinets and shelves are coming in and the items in the last pile, the things we are keeping will go there.

This will be a full two or three day job. It's not a fun job unless you count the times you find treasures you'd thought you'd lost.  It's a hold no prisoners kind of work and if your family is like mine, they are resistant.  I promise to tell you how it goes because I know we really are no different than any of you out there.  We have way too much stuff for the amount of space we have to live in and we have to get rid of it once and for all!

Wish us luck!
